For the first time in eight years, Google is updating its Chrome browser logo. Elvin Hu, a Google Chrome designer, shared a first look at the redesigned logo on Twitter, stating that it will begin appearing on devices soon.

Elvin Hu on Twitter wrote, “some of you might have noticed a new icon in Chrome’s Canary update today. Yes! we’re refreshing Chrome’s brand icons for the first time in 8 years.”
Google has announced that the Chrome web browser logo will be changed for the first time in eight years. And it’s awe-inspiringly — well, not awe-inspiringly different.
To be fair, the new logo is noticeably different from the old one when compared side by side. It’s brighter, cleaner, and Google has applied the design equivalent of a 10,000 LED light to the logo’s front to eliminate any shadows.
However, that may not be the exact logo you see on your device. Google is releasing custom logos for each major operating system, including Windows 10, Windows 11, ChromeOS, and iOS. The differences between each OS are also minor.
